Our Story

I HAVE ALWAYS HAD A PASSION FOR COOKING...

since I was a five year old boy, where my mother taught me how to cook my own breakfast.  My mother is from Mobile, Alabama and I learned to cook grits and eggs, sausage, bacon and toast.

At the time, I did not know it was a passion, I just thought it was natural for me to cook for myself.  But anytime my friends would stay the night at my house, I would wake up early the next morning and cook my “Neighborhood Famous” grits and eggs, sausage, bacon and buttered toast and my friends loved it.

So, it did not surprise me when I wanted to create my own hot sauce.  The hot sauces I would eat, in my opinion, were lacking something.  And one day, a friend of the family came to my home and wanted to do something nice for us, for all the help we gave to this person.

The dish was pork chop Chile Verde and I asked if it was alright for me to watch how it is prepared and the answer, of course, was yes.  The Chile Verde tasted good, but once again there was something missing.  So, I began to play with the recipe and it took me over three years to perfect it.  And the final result is Mr. Lava Hot Sauce!
